Sebelius must be stopped [campaign ad]

[PAID FOR BY HILLARY CLINTON'S DEBT]

"Kathleen Sebelius must be stopped! We must NEVER have a female VP, unless it's me!! WAHHH!! WAHHH!!! WAHHH!!!

She is a woman. She is not qualified because her name isn't Hillary Clinton, the only qualified woman in the entire world. WAHHH! WAHHH! WAHHH!

I intend to seal all 18,000,000 of the cracks in the glass ceiling unless I'M THE VP!!! WAHHHHH!!! WAHHHH!!! WAHHHHH!!!

When the history books are written, they will show that I had a huge role in denying a woman the Vice Presidency.

I'm Hillary Clinton, and I approve this pathetic message."

Can't you just be pro-Sebelius without being so anti-Clinton.

You aren't helping anyone's cause, except McCain.

I will be happy with Clinton, Sebelius, or any other of the many names being floated.

Pathetic.  Hiding securely in your anonymity, you revel in viciousness.

Here's a better video of her (none / 0)

The SOTU video is awful. But it's a terrible setting.

This is what she looks like campaigning for Obama.

Thanks for the link (2.00 / 1)

I think the SOTU is a bad representation of what kind of politician she is.  I like her style.  No, she might not turn Kansas around, but I think she would be effective in neighboring Western and Midwest states that are more purple.

Her two drawbacks:
1) foreign policy, and McCain is definitely picking fights on that, and

2) the bizarro sexism of some of HRC's supporters that puts Hillary above the glass ceiling, and puts a two-term progressive governor from a 'red state' beneath it. Seems that picking any other female would be 'a slap in the face' to some supporters who are more interested in elevating their idol to her rightful spot than actually breaking barriers and doing the country some good.

For myself, I think both Sebelius and Hillary would be fine VPs and would be satisfied with either, whatever their respective drawbacks are.

Re: Thanks for the link (2.00 / 2)

I agree that either Clinton or Sebelius would be good choices. I happen to think they are the only two realistic options at this point, but Clinton is the known entity to more people and she has greater knowledge of a wide range of issues.

As much as there are people who believe they know who Hillary Clinton is and detest her for being the person they created in their minds, there are people who have no idea who Sebelius is. If Obama believes that Sebelius is someone who won't need an introduction to the American people, he's wrong. But that's why I think he has already chosen Clinton.

But Sebelius really deserves some props. She stood up to an insurance company in her state and won. I don't know about being a briliant economist, but she has taken a very difficult financial situation and made it work for Kansas. She can work with people. She does not back down from women's rights. She's pro-choice but actually does what she can - with a very conservative legislature - to push for family planning and education for all. I'd be happy if the Bush administration had one competent executive like her in his administration  (that might be hyperbole but I am disinclined to correct it at this point).

She got backed down on some of her very sensible initiatives, but it's Kansas. Seeing that educational expenses are a huge part of every state's budget and a big mess in this country right now, I'm eager for her to be the involved with education in an Obama administration. She even stood up against altering the Kansas constitution to redefine marriage as exclusively between a man and a woman. It  was passed by 70% anyway, but she stood on principle.

And as I've stated before, Obama has no need to, nor will he stand down based on the super-myth created about John McCain's foreign policy expertise. Obama has no intention of micromanaging the Pentagon or the military. I'm terrified that an addled McCain might try to. Obama will work with the military to keep it the best in the world - that can't happen unless military planners are restricted by Republican neo-con blinders. Let our great military hearts and minds do their jobs. That is all that ask - and to be respected for their work.

That's why the McCain people freaked out about Obama's trip to Iraq and Afghanistan. The troops and their families are way more supportive of Obama than McCain. With McCain they become chess pieces. With Obama they remain flesh and blood Americans dedicated to serving their country, bravely and with more decency than McCain seems able to even feign at this point.
