Is there any validity here? I mean, I know McCain was trying to weasel out of the Rubin clip, but does he have any sort of point?

It's all good. Maybe I should have just ignored this diary, but the reference to a truncated quote made me nervous because I wouldn't want to get hosed if I ever found myself debating this.
One thing is, I think the 2006 version of McCain was actually right about this. But that's all the more reason he shouldn't be resorting to cheap demagoguery now.
